Chrysler Group LLC managed by Fiat SpA has recalled Dodge Journey, Ram 1,500 trucks and Dodge Ram 4,500 and 5,500 vehicles due to manufacturing defects.
The company has recalled 65,180 Dodge cars for faulty wire in the front door harness. The 2009 manufactured vehicle is suffering from a defect in the wires that may break and affect circuits that control the side impact sensors.
This has the potential of deactivating the side airbag which may not operate even if the vehicle meets with an accident. This is what Chrysler informed the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Cold is also restricting the ability of the harness to prevent higher breakage.
Ram 1500 trucks for model year 2011 were recalled in excess of 56,000 numbers because of a problem in the real axle bearing. This may cause the axle to growl or grind and may inevitably seize leading to a crash.
The company also recalled the more than 20000 units of the 2008-2011 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 models. The complaint here was that the left ball stud may prevent the driver from steering the truck properly.
Till date, there have been numerous complaints but no crashes, no accidents and no deaths caused by the flaws. The company has opted for preventive move to reduce chances of accidents.
