Canadian media reported that the Hispanic workers were killed when their van collided with a truck near Stratford, Ontario.

Three survivors from the van were taken to hospital.

“My staff have never been to anything this horrific,” Linda Rockwood, director of Perth County Emergency Medical Services, said. “It’s not anything they’ve ever had to do before.”

The accident took place in an agricultural area where many workers from Latin America are employed.

CNews reported that the truck had flipped upside down and that its cabin was mangled beyond recognition.

The white passenger van carrying the migrant workers was crushed and pushed up against the side of a nearby house.

Although chunks of the vehicle were scattered across the garden, no one in the house was hurt.
