French police launched an investigation on Monday looking in to the Sunday crash between a car belonging to France Television 2/3 and Tour de France racers Juan Antonio Flecha of Spain and Johnny Hoogerland of the Netherlands.
Team Sky principal Dave Bralisford said that options such as further legal proceedings are currently open for possible consideration.
Police are working quickly to interview witnesses, especially riders during their day off from racing. Flecha was treated in a local hospital at the beginning of the race’s day off, where he received one stitch for a cut on his knee.
“I can’t say it’s good. I can just say it’s looking okay. I was having lots of fun in this Tour and enjoying it a lot. I was doing well so far”, said Flecha.
