USAintel, an employment check service, says about 70% of employers lose in negligent hiring lawsuits and only 20% of small businesses perform employment checks.

“A lot of small employers just don’t think about background checks, don’t perform complete employment checks, or say they don’t have the money to do employee checks, yet they are exposing themselves to negligent hiring lawsuits that can cost a lot more, not only in money, but in peace of mind and, potentially, the safety of their business, employees and clients,” said a spokesperson.

USAintel says it provides online access to consumer and commercial credit bureau data with automated service and offers additional data products that include a basic person search, criminal conviction, bankruptcy, liens, judgments, motor vehicle, employment check background reports. The company says its extensive database is augmented by sources that include the Department of Corrections, Drug Enforcement Administration, Transportation Security Administration, Equifax Credit Bureau, Administrative Office of Courts and more – with cross checking to assure accuracy.

“We were very pleased with their thoroughness and fast turnaround time,” said a recent client.
