MacEwen Petroleum Inc. releases gift card program in time for holidays

Just in time for the holiday gift giving season, MacEwen Petroleum Inc. announces the release of its MacEwen gift card program.
The MacEwen gift card launched on November 15th for use at MacEwen stations. Available from CA$10 – $100 increments, the company says the card can be purchased at any one of the participating retail outlets located throughout Ontario and Western Quebec, Canada.
The plastic cards come in five designs that reflect the individual taste of the consumer ranging from a sporty highway driving image to a festive holiday motive. MacEwen Petroleum says the, cards are reloadable and the balance of the gift card can be checked online.
MacEwen says they pride themselves by offering community owned and operated outlets which give local customers competitive affordable fuel prices and tailored friendly service. Ian McLean, Marketing and Procurement Manager for MacEwen Petroleum said, “We’ve been serving the community for the last 35 years. We’ve seen how our customer’s needs have changed through the years and we have grown and changed with them. The gift card seems to be the next ‘best step’ in offering our customers what they want from their local gas station. Convenience and affordability!”
Working in conjunction with MacEwen is KESM Transaction Solutions Inc. which it says has been managing the development and implementation of the gift cards. Founded in 2001, KESM offers custom gift and loyalty solutions for businesses and industries of all types.
Michael Seon, VP Sales – LoyalMark, a division of KESM Transaction Solutions, is optimistic about the new gift card being offered. “Gift cards are a huge part of a consumer’s buying tool kit. People used to carry paper money, cash, around with them. Now they carry plastic, gift cards, credit cards and gas cards.” Seon goes on to say that, “Gift cards are a win-win situation. The consumer benefits from convenience and any perks from the card, and the merchant benefits as well. Not only from convenience but from an expanded customer base. Cards are given as gifts and can introduce new customers to the brand.”
