Queen Mary Public School of Peterborough, On, Canada celebrates 100th anniversary

Peterborough, On, Canada – Queen Mary Public School in Peterborough, Ontario announces it celebrates its 100th anniversary and is hosting an online auction from May 1 until May 9, 2012 to raise money to purchase a letter board for the school.

“This is an exciting way for the broader community to help the school, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2013, and in the process grab some really cool items in the auction,” said a spokesperson.

According to a school representative, the auction begins on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:00 am, local time, and ends on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 starting at 1:30 pm, in half hour increments until 5:00 pm.

“Just in time for mother’s day, this auction will help the Queen Mary Public School meet its goal of buying the letter board the school has wanted for some time. The auction allows the public to help the school reach that goal just in time for its 100th anniversary”, added the school representative.

According to the representative, local businesses have lined up with some great items for the auction. There are over 100 items available including:

  • Children’s Activities
  • Family Entertainment
  • Birthday Events
  • Gift Certificates
  • Peterborough Petes Box Tickets

Sponsors of the auction include Platinum Sponsor Signarama Peterborough along with artbox.ca, Century Health, Play Street, green eyewear optical, and Big sky design.

According to the school, taking part in the auction is easy:

  • Register at the site and “Create an Account” (Account will be active May 1, 2012)
  • Browse the auction items, ask questions and bid
  • Check back often to monitor the bid and bid again if necessary
  • Winning bids will be notified by email and telephone at the end of the auction

The school representative added, members of the public can also donate items for the auction, learn about the sponsors, and even become a sponsor when they browse the Queen Mary Auction website. The school has made it very easy for all members of the public to participate in this auction and to help celebrate the Queen Mary 100th anniversary.
