Stand Up To Cancer extended to the end of November to give community members more time to participate in the worthwhile cause.
Approximately 1500 people die from cancer each day despite aggressive action to find a cure for the disease. AndrosForm, a men’s fitness and lifestyle blog, is enlisting the help of its blog readers and surrounding communities to help raise money to further cancer research in an effort to find a cure. The popular blog launched its campaign to raise money for the fight against cancer on November 7, 2011 and will donate proceedings to the cancer initiative group, Stand Up to Cancer.
AndrosForm began their giveaway contest with the intention of ending it on November 10, 2011, but media and blog community attention has raised awareness of the campaign and the blog’s administrators have extended the deadline through the end of November to give community members more time to participate in the worthwhile cause.
“The giveaway contest has really picked up steam and we want to raise as much money as possible for cancer research. We simply couldn’t stop while word of the contest continued to spread” stated an androsForm spokesperson.
Stand Up to Cancer was formed in 2008 and is comprised of people involved in all areas of cancer, including patients, doctors, and lawmakers, in an effort to further research of cancer treatment, leading to an eventual cure. Cancer is the second deadliest disease in the world, and statistics show that everyone knows at least one person who’s been diagnosed with some form of cancer. For every contest entry form androsForm receives, they’ve pledged to donate 10 cents to Stand Up to Cancer.
Carie Small, nominee for “All Fantasy Player” of the 2010 Lingerie Football League lends her face to the campaign along with androsForm through the donation of Carie Small “Tackle Cancer” T-shirts for the contest’s five winners. As a cancer survivor, Small takes a special interest in the fight to find a cure for cancer. In addition to the five top prizes, several other winners will be chosen for prizes including Edible Arrangements and other t-shirts.
A third-party hosting service, provided by 63squares, is working with androsForm to monitor contest entries and ensure the correct proceeds are allocated to Stand Up to Cancer. Entry forms will be accepted through 11:59pm EST on November 30, 2011.
Every penny counts when it comes to cancer research. Money collected from community donations helps cancer research teams discover new treatments, which can lead to saving the life of a family member or friend.
