The manager of Tottenham spoke of the importance of bringing the former English captain back to London.
Beckham is spokesman confirmed that he was indeed waiting for permission for a loan from his club. However, he did not mention Spurs as the final destination. The spokesperson spoke of a short term loan until the start of the Major League Soccer season commencing on March 15.
Beckham is slated to play the entire season with Galaxy. Tottenham happens to be one of the many clubs who are interested but the spokesperson stated that detailed discussions were not taking place as they were waiting for LA to give the final go ahead.
The spokesperson also emphasized that David was very keen on becoming fit again and playing for England as early as possible. The midfielder had previously played for AC Milan during the off-season in 2009 and 2010.
The 35 year old footballer missed the World Cup last year because of an injury that he picked up when playing for Milan. He was subsequently dropped from the English team and his career seemed virtually over.
