Milan to Become the New Hot Tourist Destination for Indians

Jet Airways announced commencement of non-stop flights, daily, from New Delhi, the capital of India, to the fashion capital of Italy, Milan, from December 5, 2010.

Milan will thus become the twenty-fourth international destination to be added on the network of Jet Airways. This new service is targeted to cater to the increasing fashion and design business ,and people associated with it.

Italy is considered as a throbbing trade and business center of Europe. India and Italy has strong trade links to the amount of $8 billion in various spheres ranging from textiles, heavy engineering, automotive to agro business. This is estimated to reach $10 billion soon with emerging trends in industrial design, Information Technology and science.

Italy offers an unique combination of modern and traditional cultures with its fashion and technological advancement on one hand and ancient monuments and art masterpieces on the other. The ‘2015 Universal Exposition’ showcasing the latest innovations in science and technology is scheduled to be held in Milan.

India also seems to a favorite tourist destination of many Italians as they come to visit the states of Rajasthan, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, especially the famous Khajuraho temples.

Milan has a strategic location in Central Europe and Jet Airways’ daily flights will allow convenient access not only to other cities in Italy like Rome, Florence, Venice and Pisa, but also to several favorite European tourist places like Paris, Zurich, Helsinki and Madrid.
