On Tuesday a Florida jury acquitted Casey Anthony of murdering Caylee Anthony, her two year old daughter.
Anthony was found not guilty of first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child, yet she was found guilty of four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
The prosecution sought the death penalty, alleging intentional murder. Anthony showed no reaction while the jury’s verdict was read in court after about ten hours of deliberations which started on July 4.
Caylee Anthony disappeared In June 2008 and was found dead six months later not far from her home.
Sentencing for the four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer is set for Thursday.
