Added by on October 29, 2010

On Wednesday, three Mexican hitmen killed 15 people at a carwash in the West of Mexico. This is the third massacre that goes on in Mexico in the last days. The killers who shot dead 15 men employees who were working at the car wash are suspected to be drug hitmen.

The incident took place on the outskirts of Tepic city, when three gunmen in three SUVs started shooting staff and customers of a car wash.

A spokesman of Nayarit state’s attorney general office stated that ‘the workers were all men; they were washing cars when the gunmen, probably members of organized crime, drove up in SUVs (sport utility vehicles) and started opening fire’.

This is the third multiple murder since last Friday, when 14 people were killed and a child was injured at a party in Texas. On Sunday, another 14 people were killed by gunmen in Tijuana at a rehabilitation centre.  The Mexican interior minister addressed the media and condemned the killings.

Over the past 4 years, nearly 30 thousand people lost their lives in killings related to drugs which took place across Mexico.

It’s still not clear why the gunmen opened fire on the car wash workers, but the prosecutor’s office has denied rumors which indicated that the car wash victims were allegedly recovering drug addicts.
