According to Gaga’s manager, Yankovic never forwarded the parody to the singer, who found out about it after he posted the song on YouTube and complained to fans that she had rejected it on his blog.

However, the misunderstanding, was resolved when Gaga insisted on hearing a recorded version of the song. Yankovic then rushed back to the recording studio to fulfil her request.

“Because I was really excited about this parody, I decided I would faithfully jump through as many hoops as Gaga deemed necessary,” he wrote on his blog.

He added, “Given the circumstances, I have no problem with allowing people to hear it online, because I also have a personal policy not to completely waste my stinking time.”

The song, titled ‘Perform this Way’ is said to make fun of the eccentric singer’s stage performances, including lines like “I strap prime rib to my feet, cover myself with raw meat… cos baby I perform this way”.

Yankovic said that after hearing the song, Gaga now loves it. He plans to release the song, which he expects to be a hit single, as part of his upcoming album.

All proceeds are according to Yankovic going to the Human Rights Campaign.
