On Thursday, Reva Goetz, Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, ruled that all personal and professional matters of Britney Spears, the famous American pop star, will be handled and controlled by Britney’s father Jamie Spears and her attorney Andrew Wallet.
The Judge met with Britney Spears in the court chambers before ruling out the verdict.
The 28-year old singer, shot to fame with her tracks “Oops! I Did It Again” and “Baby One More Time” in the late 1990’s and went on to become a celebrated teen pop icon, credited for having sold over 100 million records across the world and is considered the third most influential musician in the world.
From 2007, Britney’s life started spiraling out of control as she landed up with drugs and drinking problems. She spent time in a rehabilitation center and was also hospitalized in 2008 for psychiatric treatment. It was then that her father Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet took charge of her life and were her conservators.
Britney had a comeback with her album “Circus” in 2008 and had a successful “Circus” tour which became the fifth highest grossing tour of the year. Even though Britney now maintains a low public profile, she is still much talked about. A recent episode of the hit musical TV show “Glee” had Britney Spears as subject.
