Piper Jaffray released a report on Monday that shows Apple products are gaining in popularity with teenagers over the last four years.

The top three Apple products that you should stock are the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

For the past 11 years, Piper Jaffray has been reporting and tracking teen trends closely. Each fall they poll between 5,000 and 10,000 to gather their data to assist the market in determining which items are going to be hot this Christmas.

For 2011, the latest data shows that about 3.5% of teenagers want an iPhone for Christmas. 2.5% of the respondents asked for an iPad and another 2% want the iPod, most notably the iPod touch.

Add in another 1% who want a Mac computer and another 1% for an Apple product gift card, like a Mac Store or iTunes gift card and you have over 11% of teenagers wanting some form of Apple product for Christmas.

According to Piper Jaffray, this data shows exactly which items retailers will need to stock on their shelves during this upcoming Christmas season. Though Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed, consumers are expected to spend millions of dollars on these products between now and Christmas.

A Piper Jaffray spokesperson said, “Obtaining large quantities directly from Apple may be a long shot at this point. However there are several suppliers that you can purchase wholesale iPhones and wholesale iPads at bulk rates if you need them fast.”

Piper Jaffray conducted this poll by visiting schools nationwide and asking teenagers what they wanted for this Christmas; respondents were also able to complete the survey online.
