Will PlayStation 4 launch before the new Xbox? That’s big the question that seems to be on the lips of all gamers. But your guess is as good as mine, says Mihai Fox, CEO of the Playstation 4 review site.

“However, in the interim, if you’d like to get a head start on everyone by keeping abreast of the latest PlayStation 4, that’s one thing I can assure you that I’ll able to able to provide you through our site,” says Fox, who is claiming the PlayStation 4 will be released early in 2012.

“Simply, we keep our readers and visitors updated about the latest development, trends and happenings with the PS4,” he added.

Many gamers are wondering whether there would still be a chance for another PlayStation this time. However, while Microsoft and Nintendo are aiming their next generation of consoles, would Sony retain the competitive heat with the arrival of PlayStation 4?

“No one really knows. However, with the current upheaval with Microsoft’s entering the market with a new gaming system, there is no doubt an imminent threat to the game development sector of Sony,” argued Fox.

“Would there still be a time for Sony to release their PlayStation 4 before the vicious first blood of Microsoft’s? Or will they claim the fast forward ticket that would give them a commanding advantage this time? These are questions that won’t be answered anytime soon,” added Fox.

However, he noted that with Sony’s plan on publicizing the release of PlayStation 4 seems contingent on knowing when Microsoft has decided to unleash its new gaming console.

Jim Ryan, president of PlayStation Europe, said that they are ready to counter any preemptive strike from Microsoft regarding the progress of a new Xbox console in January at the CES 2012 event.

Nintendo, on the other hand, may have plans to launch the Wii U, which is a follow-up to the popular Wii.

According to Fox, given the lead, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has dominated Sony’s PS3 in sales. “With PS3’s continuing breakdown, there is a great chance that it will not be able to sustain the demands of the gamers,” he said, even though Sony is facing difficulties with their next generation consoles.

However, he claimed that Sony is now pushing its development center to keep up the pace. “Sony will always have something in their arsenal and this includes the PlayStations Vita,” he said of Sony, who continues to build up their games for the upcoming PlayStation 4.
