SleepBamboo.com is pleased to announce the launch of a new line of bamboo sheets.

“Bamboo sheets are made from bamboo – one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Bamboo sheets are very smooth, have a natural looking sheen, and we estimate that our 300 thread count in our sheets are equivalent to about 1000 thread count in a fine cotton based sheet,” said a spokesperson.

Bamboo sheets are produced with rayon from bamboo plus, the company says, its bamboo is grown completely chemical-free. Unlike trees, bamboo emerges from the ground at its full diameter and grows to full height within a 3-4 month growing season. Bamboo grows as a single culm, or shoot, until it reaches the majority of its height, at which point it produces branches with leaves. The shoot hardens each year, and the bamboo is considered to be mature in its third year of growth when most types of bamboo are considered to be suitable for use in construction.
