One of the Highlighted events of the year, the Falmouth Oyster Festival, is expecting Cornish food lovers and gastronomes from all over the world. The Falmouth Oyster Festival will take place in Falmouth, one of the most renowned resorts on the south coast of Cornwall, England, and will run between for three days, between October 14 and October 17. The event wasn’t scheduled randomly since during this time the oyster harvesting season begins in Cornwall.
The Falmouth Oyster Festival will feature top regional chefs and the host of the opening ceremony was announced to be Valentine Warner, food expert and BBC presenter. The festival is said to have a busy schedule comprising of free events, cookery demonstrations and tasting. Entrance at the opening celebration requires a ticket which will cost GBP3, but most of the festival’s events are open to anyone and free to attend.
The highlight of the festival is a culinary demonstration held on October 15 by Fergus Coyle of Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips, in Falmouth. Other skilled chefs such as Dez Turland, Nick Hodges, Arty Williams and Fiona Were are due to appear. The festival also has scheduled a program of live music, a Cornish produce marquee and children’s activities so that everyone that will attend can have a great time.
